Which Hamptons Kitchen Style Suits Your Home?

Hamptons kitchens are known for their timeless cabinetry, soft colour palettes, natural textures and elegant finishes. Whether you prefer a classic coastal look or a cleaner, contemporary design, you can adapt the style to suit your home, layout and lifestyle.

Classic Hamptons Timeless

Classic Hamptons

Traditional panelled cabinetry, soft white finishes, marble-look benchtops and elegant hardware create a timeless Hamptons kitchen. Subtle decorative details add character without overwhelming the room

Modern Hamptons Most requested

Modern Hamptons

Modern Hamptons kitchens combine classic cabinetry with clean lines, subtle hardware and contemporary finishes. Warm whites and practical storage create a stylish, functional space.

Coastal Hamptons Best of both

Coastal Hamptons

Soft neutrals, natural timber touches and a lighter mix of materials make the room feel more relaxed. The cabinetry still carries the Hamptons character without feeling formal.

White With a Coloured Island Warm & rustic

White With a Coloured Island

Keep the perimeter light and give the island its own colour. Navy, soft grey or muted green can add contrast while the Shaker doors keep both areas connected.

A Cleaner Take

Modern Hamptons Kitchens Without the Heavy Detail

Love the timeless character of Hamptons kitchens but prefer a cleaner, more contemporary finish? Modern Hamptons combines classic cabinetry details, elegant stone surfaces and soft neutral colours with simpler lines and practical storage. It works particularly well in newer Sydney homes and open-plan living spaces where the kitchen connects with the rest of the home.

Build the Look

Six Details That Give Hamptons Its Character

You don’t need to add every traditional feature. Start with the cabinetry, then choose the stone, sink, hardware and smaller details that make sense for your home.

Shaker Cabinet Doors

Shaker Cabinet Doors

The recessed centre panel gives Hamptons cabinetry its recognisable framed appearance. A cleaner profile feels more modern, while a stronger frame brings out more traditional character.

Soft Whites and Contrast

Soft Whites and Contrast

Warm white, off-white and pale grey cabinetry keep the room light without making every surface identical. A deeper island colour can give the centre of the kitchen more definition.

Light Veined Stone

Light Veined Stone

Stone with soft grey or warm veining works naturally against Shaker cabinetry. Put the actual cabinet colour beside the benchtop sample so you can see whether the undertones work together.

Simple Splashback Details

Simple Splashback Details

A restrained splashback lets the cabinetry and benchtop do more of the work. White tile, subtle pattern or a stone continuation can all sit comfortably with Hamptons cabinetry.

Butler-Style Sinks and Tapware

Butler-Style Sinks and Tapware

A ceramic or fireclay sink can make the style immediately recognisable. Pair it with tapware that suits the handles rather than choosing both separately.

Island and Lighting

Island and Lighting

The island can carry seating, drawers and extra preparation space while also giving you somewhere to introduce a contrasting cabinet colour or stronger stone detail.

Made to Your Room

Decide What Your Hamptons Cabinets Need to Do

The door style gets most of the attention, but you’ll live with what’s behind it every day. We plan the cabinet sizes, pantry storage, drawers and island around what needs a proper place in your kitchen.

Shaker Door Profiles

Shaker Door Profiles

Choose the amount of framing and detail you want rather than assuming every Shaker door looks the same. Compare the profiles up close before settling on one.

Cabinet Door Finishes

Cabinet Door Finishes

Paradise works with polyurethane, laminate and other cabinetry finishes. Compare the surface, colour choices and price before deciding what suits your kitchen.

Glass-Front Cabinets

Glass-Front Cabinets

Use selected glass doors to display glassware or crockery and break up a long run of solid overhead cabinetry without opening everything to dust.

Pantry and Tall Storage

Pantry and Tall Storage

Use full-height cabinetry for food, small appliances and items you don’t want sitting permanently on the benchtop.

Drawers and Internal Storage

Drawers and Internal Storage

Soft-close drawers and pull-out storage make deep cabinets easier to use, especially for pots, pantry goods, bins and everyday kitchen equipment.

Island Cabinetry

Island Cabinetry

Add drawers, cupboards, seating space or storage on the reverse side depending on how the island will be used from breakfast through to dinner.

Shop the Look

Choose a Sink That Brings Out the Hamptons Style

The sink is one of the few kitchen fittings you use constantly and see from across the room. Compare bowl size, material and installation style before the surrounding cabinetry is finalised.

Before You Commit

Like Hamptons but Have a Few Concerns?

White doors. Framed edges. A farmhouse sink that might cost more than expected. It’s easy to like the finished photos and still wonder what the choices will be like to live with. We work through those questions while you can still change them.

Your Worry

  • Mine will look like every other Hamptons kitchen.
    "I like the style, but I don’t want a copy-and-paste kitchen.."
  • There’s too much white to keep clean.
"My kitchen gets used properly. I don’t want to wipe everything all day."
  • Will detailed Hamptons cabinet doors be harder to clean
"Will dust sit in every edge?"
  • The sink alone will blow the budget.
"I like the farmhouse look, but some of those sinks cost thousands."

How We Approach It

  • Start with the Shaker doors, then make the other choices around your home. Cabinet colour, island finish, stone, handles and sink can all change the character without losing what makes the kitchen Hamptons.
  • Hamptons doesn’t require every cabinet to be white. Compare different door finishes in the showroom and consider a softer neutral or deeper island colour where you don’t want one uninterrupted run of pale cabinetry.
  • Some Hamptons cabinet profiles have more detailed edges than flat-panel doors. If easy cleaning is a priority, compare simpler Shaker profiles and different cabinet finishes in our showroom. You can see how much detailing each option has before making your decision.
  • Compare the sink before treating one product as essential. Paradise stocks ceramic and fireclay options at different price points, including premium Chambord sinks and lower-priced ceramic alternatives. Check the installation style as well as the price before choosing.

Bring the details you like and the ones you’re unsure about. We can work out where the Hamptons character matters most in your kitchen.

Working With Less Space

Making Hamptons Style Work in a Smaller Kitchen

A smaller kitchen can still capture the charm of Hamptons style without feeling crowded. Focus on light cabinetry, subtle detailing and smart storage solutions that make the most of your available space.

Take Storage Higher

Take Storage Higher

Full-height cabinetry uses wall space that would otherwise sit empty and keeps more items out of sight.

Keep Large Surfaces Light

Keep Large Surfaces Light

Use lighter cabinetry or benchtops where you want the room to feel less visually heavy, then bring contrast into smaller areas.

Question the Island

Question the Island

If an island makes the walkway tight, use a narrower island, peninsula or leave it out. Clear movement is more useful than forcing in a feature.

Wetherill Park Showroom

See the Door, Stone, Sink and Handle Together

A white Shaker door can look warm beside one benchtop and cool beside another. A handle can look delicate online and feel too small once it’s in your hand.

Come into the Wetherill Park showroom and compare the parts together. Look closely at the Shaker profile. Run your hand over the cabinet finish. Hold your preferred hardware against the door. Stand beside a complete kitchen rather than choosing everything from isolated samples.

If you’re considering a ceramic or fireclay sink, look at the bowl size and depth before the cabinet underneath is finalised.

Bring your floor plan, rough measurements, kitchen photos and any saved images you keep returning to.

Every kitchen renovation is different, which is why Paradise Kitchens offers a complete service tailored to your home and lifestyle. Rather than coordinating multiple contractors yourself, our experienced team helps manage every stage of the renovation from design through to installation.

Why Paradise Kitchens

Why Choose Paradise Kitchens for Your Hamptons Kitchen?

A Hamptons kitchen should look right in your home and work properly for everyday use. Paradise Kitchens combines personalised design, local manufacturing and practical renovation experience to help you create a kitchen that suits your space, style and project needs.

Designed Around Your Home

Your kitchen is planned around your room measurements, layout, storage needs, appliances and the way you use the space rather than being restricted to one standard Hamptons configuration.

Custom Made in Wetherill Park

Your cabinetry is custom made locally at our Wetherill Park facility, giving you greater flexibility over cabinet sizes, storage, finishes and the details that shape your Hamptons kitchen.

Compare Your Selections in One Place

See cabinet finishes, benchtops, sinks, tapware and hardware together before you finalise your design. This makes it easier to create a coordinated Hamptons look rather than choosing each element separately.

Full or Partial Kitchen Renovations

Whether you are planning a complete Hamptons kitchen renovation or updating selected areas such as cabinet doors or benchtops, the project can be planned around what your existing kitchen actually needs.

Installation Options to Suit Your Project

Choose professional kitchen installation, supply-only or DIY options depending on how you want to manage the project, whether you prefer us to handle installation or already have your own trades in place.

Sydney Kitchen Experience Since 1982

Paradise Kitchens has been creating kitchens for Sydney homes since 1982, bringing practical experience to the layout, cabinetry, finishes and renovation decisions that shape the finished kitchen.

Warranties That Back the Work

Your kitchen is supported by a 10-year workmanship warranty and lifetime hardware warranty, adding reassurance around the cabinetry, hardware and installation.

See Your Kitchen Before It’s Made

A 3D kitchen design is available as an additional service, helping you preview the proposed layout, cabinetry, storage, and how your kitchen looks before manufacture begins.

Plan Your Budget

What Changes the Cost of a Hamptons Kitchen?

Hamptons kitchens come in different styles and budgets. A simple design with practical storage will cost less than a larger, customised kitchen with an island, premium cabinetry finishes, a fireclay sink and additional storage features.

Size and Layout

The number of cabinets, tall units, corners and island cabinets changes the amount of material and manufacturing involved.

Shaker Door Finish

Polyurethane, laminate and other cabinet finishes come with different colour choices, manufacturing requirements and prices.

Benchtop

Your material, total bench area, cut-outs, edge treatment and island size all affect the final amount.

Sink Tapware and Hardware

A premium fireclay sink, mixer and cabinet hardware can change the budget significantly, so choose them as part of the kitchen rather than at the end.

Internal Storage

Drawer banks, soft-close hardware, pull-outs, pantry fittings and specialised storage add convenience as well as cost.

Renovation Scope

A full replacement costs differently from a partial renovation using new cabinet doors, benchtops or selected components.

Hamptons Kitchen FAQs

Questions Before You Finalise the Look

Find quick answers to common questions about Hampton kitchens, from design choices to finishes, storage and installation.

Do Hamptons kitchens have to be white?

No. Light cabinetry is common, but it isn’t a rule. Warm whites, soft greys and deeper feature colours can all work with Shaker doors. A contrasting island is also a simple way to introduce colour without changing the whole kitchen.

Do I need a butler’s sink for a Hamptons kitchen?

No. A fireclay or ceramic farmhouse-style sink makes the Hamptons influence more obvious, but it isn’t essential. If another sink better suits your budget or cabinet space, you can keep the style through the doors, stone and hardware.

When should I choose my kitchen sink?

Before the surrounding cabinet is finalised. Large ceramic and fireclay sinks need enough cabinet width and support, so choosing the model early allows its dimensions and installation type to be allowed for in the cabinetry.

Can integrated appliances work in a Hamptons kitchen?

Yes. Modern Hamptons kitchens can incorporate integrated appliances while keeping Shaker cabinetry and more traditional materials elsewhere. Supply the appliance specifications before the final cabinetry is made so the required spaces and surrounding joinery can be planned correctly.

Can Paradise update only part of my Hamptons kitchen?

Yes. Paradise Kitchens lists partial renovation options including cabinet doors and benchtops. Whether keeping your existing cabinetry makes sense depends on its condition, measurements and the changes you want to make.

Can I have a Hamptons kitchen in a smaller home?

Yes. Keep the defining details where they matter most and be selective elsewhere. Full-height storage, lighter large surfaces and a carefully sized peninsula or island can retain the Hamptons character without making a smaller room feel crowded.
